Corporate Strategist
What will I be doing?
You will do the things that entrepreneurs do beyond what can be found in any book or business course.
Entrepreneurial leaders also need to maintain a strong culture, successfully manage financial stakeholders, come up with win/win solutions for complex legal and compliance issues, and resolve complicated operating problems in days or hours. These are the things you will work on, too.
Entrepreneurs develop a special ability to decide how “important” different objectives are, to determine when things need to be done almost perfectly (with extra effort), when things are best done almost instantly with minimal resources, or not done at all!
You will do these kind of tasks, and acquire the entrepreneur’s unique skills. You’ll start by working with more experienced colleagues, and will work more autonomously with time.
What will I be learning?
You will learn entrepreneurial skills and gain the technical knowledge needed to utilize them. You’ll acquire extensive experience solving problems and making decisions.
What are the unique advantages of this opportunity?
This role involves making decisions and executing initiatives, not gathering information and preparing analyses. You’ll learn faster by taking ownership. You’ll have higher long-term compensation and a stronger potential growth path.
What are the unique challenges of this opportunity?
We imagine most applicants will have achieved exceptional results in a university setting, but may not have had much experience inside a corporation. It may be an adjustment to weigh real-world risks and benefits and to see intelligent observations through to actionable implementation.
What is the compensation range?
We expect to pay a starting base salary of $250K-350K for an early-level hire working in the New York office. Base salary is only one aspect of total compensation, which includes an annual discretionary bonus.
